PAGE EIGHT

I have not used wire frames for the toys included in this book, as
by careful stuffing one can achieve very good and lasting results.
However, if you wish to use wire for some of the standing animals
such as the camel or the giraffe, these are the suitable materials.
Make the frame of galvanised or coppered wire 15 or 16 S.W.G.
which is about as thick as a match. You can buy this wire in
hardware shops, or probably get one or two welding rods from a
garage. These range in thickness from -^" upwards and being
copper-plated, are not prone to rust.
The technique of wiring, if you wish to use it, is explained on page
50.
