I must admit, I like working with the
stuffing stick, but if you are making your first toy and
do not wish
to go out and buy any extra tools for your experiment, use
an
ordinary pencil (not sharpened) or a large wooden knitting
needle,
working with the blunt end, as the pointed end can tear
the fabric.
Should you need a longer stick, a piece of ^// dowelling
bought
from a local do-it-yourself shop will only cost you a few
pence.
Most households have a fine wire or stiff brush, used for
clothes,
which can be included in the list of tools. A fur fabric
toy, when
finished, must be brushed over, particularly along the seams.
This
treatment will cover up the joins in the fabric and will
restore the
somewhat flattened pile of the fur. A pair of tailoring
scissors would be useful for cutting out fur fabric.
