As for stuffing, after trying out many stuffing materials,
I have
decided that cotton flock is the best. It works extremely
well,
particularly when one is stuffing to shape. One of its merits
is that,
when packed firmly, it does not spring back as the foam
plastics
are inclined to do, and it is not fluffy. It does not creep
into one's
hair and nose and does not hang on to the material. Cotton
flock
is sold by Messrs. Dryads of Leicester in 2 Ib, 7 Ib and
14 Ib bags.
Before purchasing materials it is always worth while to
have a good
look at local market stalls, because there I, and many of
my
student toymakers, have found very useful and inexpensive
remnants.
