Before stuffing, to make the feet stand firmly on the ground, insert
into each foot a rectangle cut out in thin card. The measurement
for the card is ^" (0-5 cm) smaller all round than the actual pattern
for the sole. This is marked by dotted line on Diagram 8.
Start working by stuffing the head. Once the head is filled,
continue stuffing the front leg, making sure that the leg is really
firm. Fill the whole front part of the body holding the toy at the
"waist". Still holding at the "waist", start stuffing the back leg
and the back of the toy. Move your hand away, and fill the
middle part of the toy, holding it approximately at neck level. The
joints, where the legs meet the body, should be particularly well
packed.

Practise the correct stuffing method on profile toys and it will help
you greatly with the more advanced work.
