Instructions - Page 2

In diagram 1, the doll maker should observe that the waist is two heads down on the central line, measured from the crown, the knees are one and a half heads down from the waist and the ankles one and a quarter heads down from the knees. The arms with hand finished should finish halfway between the waist and the knees.

For the doll maker, a rough way of getting the body shape outline correct is to mark a quarter of the waist, knee and ankle lines with a point, then using these three marks ( as in diagram 2) draw a simple wave between the verticle dotted line and the quarter marks. Continue by drawing the shoulders and the arms and then fold in half along the central line and cut out. This is the basic pattern to be split into the following parts:

1. Head pattern consisting of one face and back of the head pattern

2. Front Body

3. Back Body

4. Front and back arm

5. Front and back foot

6. Sole of the foot.
