Doll Maker
Making the Front Body
Working on the front body pattern, the doll
maker will cut off the arms and feet and complete the neck
line. Then move the legs sideways, leaving a slight gap between
them and shaping this gap at the knees and the ankles. so
that the legs are well formed.
The arms and legs are set into the front
body on a dart by the doll maker. Draw an inward curve at
the arm cut and another at the ankel cut. Fold the front body
section along the centre line and cut out following the drawn
line. Flatten out the front body piece and this is the front
body pattern.
