Trousers
How to make trousers for your kids
Variations
To adapt the trousers to shorts, A and C, or bermudas, B,
measure the length required and cut off the pattern at that
length. Add on 5 cm (^ in) to the width of each lower leg
at the side seams.
Add on a 2.5 cm (1 in) hem.
To make trousers or shorts with tum-ups, you will need to
add 12 cm (4^4 in) in length to the pattern. Turn under 5
mm (^ in) on the raw edges. Machine. Fold a 7 cm (2^4 in)
hem to the wrong side. Press. Blindstitch the hem. Fold back
4.5 cm (13^ in) to the right side. Press. Blindstitch the
tum-ups to the side seams to hold in place. To make patch
pockets, see pages 14 and 59. Trousers D have an elasticated
waist, with no front waistband. Knee patches in contrasting
material cover up worn fabric
