yd) of 90 cm (36 in) width cotton drill 18 cm (7 in) zip fastener
22 cm (8^ in) of 2 cm (^ in) width elastic.

The trousers in this project are suitable for a boy or a girl.
They have front hip pockets and an elasticated back waist
to allow for ease of movement and growth. The material should
be light- weight but hard-wearing, such as denim or any
other closely woven fabric. For more special occasions, use
corduroy, velour or velvet.

1 Machine the crotch seam as far as the front extensions.
Machine a second row of stitching as shown.
 
2 The zip fastening for a boy is made with the left edge
over the zip. Reverse the instructions for a girl.
