If you wish to cover your own buttons, you will need button bases and small offcuts of fabric left after cutting out the main pattern pieces. Cut the fabric into circles approximately 1.5 cm (^ in) larger than the size of the bases. Stretch the fabric over each base, and tuck it under the grips, then clip the back of the button base tightly in place. Domed buttons are preferable if you are making button-and-loop fastenings.
